Some Dialects Used by Igorots

     
       Igorots have different dialects they used  but in this blog I will show some of them, such as Ibaloi , Kankanaey ,Kalanguya  and karao.


I. Ibaloi
      • A member of the Northern Luzon Branch of the Philippine Languange Family. It is spoken mainly in Southern Benguet Province and Western Nueva Vizcaya Province in the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Regions of Luzon in the Philippines. Ibaloi is also known as Benguet-Igorot, Ibadoy, Ivadoy, Ibaloy, Igodor, or Nabaloi. It is closely related to Pangasinan.

Examples:
   1. Nonta eg pay laeng epalsowa iya dobong, wara ngo eshan i kadwa nen Apo Shiyos, jet sotan na kadwa toy engipa- amta alid ja dobong ni maypangkep son Apoh Shiyos. Jet si-kato met laeng si Apoh Shiyos.

2. Mapteng nga agsapa

4. Mapteng nga edavi

5.Tuwa'y edapo-an mo?

Translation:
1. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
2.Good Morning
3.Good Afternoon
4. Good Evening
5. Where are you going?

II. Kankanaey
     • A member of the South -Central Cordilleran Branch of the Philippine Language Family. It is spoken by about 240,000 people mainly in Mountain Province and also in Northern Benguet Province  in the North Luzon in the Philippines. It's name is also written Kankana-ey. Kankanaey is realted in Ilocano.

Examples:
  1. Gawes ay agew mo
  
  2.Gawes ay agsapa
 
  3.Nalpuam?

  4. Umayam?

  5.Entako

Translation:
1.Good day to you
2.Good Morning
3.Where dis you came from?
4. Where are you going
5. Let's go

III. Kalanguya
      • A member of the South-Central Cordilleran Branch of the Philippine Language Family. It is spoken in Northern Luzon in the Philippines by about 100,000 people mainly in the Province of Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet and Pangasinan. Kalanguya is also known as Kallahan, Ikalahan, Kalangoya, Kalangoya-Ikalahan or Kayapa Kallahan.
        There are four main dialects of Kalanguya:
    a. Central Kalanguya (Kayapa)
    b. Northern Kalanguya ( Ambaguio, Tinoc)
    c. Southern Kalanguya ( Santa Fe)
    d. Western Kalanguya ( Benguet)

Examples:
 1.Mayat ni agsapa
 2.hipay ngadan mo?
 3. Pigay taw-an mo?
 4. Tulay lawan mo?
 5. Kisu law

Translation:
 1.Good Morning
 2. What is your name?
 3. How old are you?
 4. Where are you going?
 5. Let's go

IV. Karao
     •Karao is a language of Northern Luzon, Philippines. It is spoken in the Karao, Ekip, and Bokod areas of Western Benguet Province, and in the southwestern corner of Ifugao Province. The language is named after the barangay of Karaw in Bokod municipality, Benguet. 

Examples:
1.mayat i agsapa

2.Piya i tawen mo

3.enshemek taha

Translation:
1.Good Morning
2. How old are you?
3. I love you
